This stunning coin features the Lunar mischievous monkey set in authentic Australian opal. A unique collector’s item, or gift for those born in the anticipated Year of the Monkey.

The coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a monkey with a peach, which is symbolic of longevity and immortality, detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts a collection of peach blossoms. The design includes the inscription YEAR OF THE MONKEY, the 2016 year-date, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
