Capturing the essence of the cute and cuddly koala, this 2014 Australian Koala high relief design displays brilliant new artistry on this spectacular coin.

The coin’s reverse portrays a close-up portrait of an adult koala with a branch of eucalyptus leaves. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the 2014 year-date.

The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

Each coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will issue no more than 9,000 of the Australian Koala 2014 1oz Silver High Relief Coin in this packaging, from a maximum mintage of 10,000.

Each coin is housed in a classic grey display case with a specially designed illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
