The Perth Mint’s 2015 Australian High Relief Three-Coin Collection features three of our most loved bush creatures in brilliant high relief, the Australian Kookaburra, Kangaroo, and Koala.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
Each coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
The Australian Kangaroo coin’s reverse portrays an adult kangaroo bouncing across an Australian landscape at dusk, with the moon and trees in the background, headed by the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO.
The reverse of the Australian Koala coin depicts an adult koala sitting in the fork of a eucalyptus tree, amid a rural landscape. The design also includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA.
The Australian Kookaburra coin’s reverse features an adult kookaburra sitting on a tree stump surrounded by eucalyptus leaves and a fern. The design includes the inscription THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA and the year-dates 1990 – 2015.
The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the 2015 year-date also appear in the reverse design of the kangaroo and the koala coin, whilst the kookabura coin features The Perth Mint’s special P25 mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the obverse of the kangaroo and the koala coin.
The kookaburra coin also features the 2015 year-date.
No more than 1,000 of the 2015 Australian High Relief Silver Proof Three-Coin Collections will be issued by The Perth Mint from a maximum mintage of 10,000 Kookaburra, 20,000 Kangaroo and 10,000 Koala coins.
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The three-coin collection is housed in a display case within a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
