With shimmering hair the colour of spun gold and glittering azure eyes, the stunning Ocean Fairy spends her days flying low over the clear blue ocean water, occasionally plunging deep below the waves.
The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The reverse of the coin features a coloured Ocean Fairy sitting on a rock with the ocean and a beach in the background. The inscription OCEAN FAIRY and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.
Issued as legal tender under the Government of Tuvalu, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
No more than 5,000 of the 2016 Ocean Fairy 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin will be released by The Perth Mint.
The coin is housed in a beautifully illustrated card that opens up to display a pop-up of the beautiful Ocean Fairy with shimmering detail.
