This wonderfully crafted Tasmanian Devil coin is the fifth release in the Australian Opal series, showcasing nocturnal Australian animals created in pure Australian opal.
Each coin is meticulously struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in superb proof quality.
The coin’s reverse incorporates a centre piece of pure Australian opal featuring a detailed design of a Tasmanian Devil detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts native soft tree ferns, a full moon and the Southern Cross – a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern Hemisphere.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the monetary denomination are shown on the coin’s obverse.
