The obverse features the passage between the narthex and the nave of the Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene in Vézelay decorated with agate inserts. On the right – the face value: 1 DOLLAR. On the left – the year of issue: 2014. At the bottom – a profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and inscriptions: NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), ELIZABETH II, m/w (the mint mark).

Reverse:
The reverse shows the passage between the narthex and the nave of the Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene in Vézelay decorated with agate inserts. Below – an inscription: ROMANESQUE ART (the name of the coin).
