2017 Year of the Rooster Design
The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster, gilded in 24-carat gold, a hen, and three chicks standing amongst bamboo foliage and flowers. The Chinese character for ‘rooster’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rooster’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017 year-date, and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.
Issue Limit
The Perth Mint will release no more than 47,500 of the 2017 Year of the Rooster 1oz Silver Gilded Edition in individual packaging from a maximum mintage of 50,000.
Lunar Presentation Packaging and Numbered Certificate
Each coin is housed in a classic black and red display case and illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
The Year of the Rooster Gilded Edition can also be purchased in a capsule only with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Cases are still available for collectors of the complete twelve-coin set.
