The popular Australian Map Shaped coin series continues with the Dingo, an Australian wild dog which is believed to have descended from semi-domesticated dogs in East or South Asia. They are thought to have arrived in Australia around 5,000 years ago.

The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver.

Innovative Map Shaped Coin

The coin’s coloured reverse depicts a dingo standing in front of a rocky outcrop in the Australian desert. The design includes the inscription DINGO, The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the 2016 year-date. The coin is innovatively struck in the shape of Australia.

Australian Legal Tender

The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2016 year-date on its obverse.

Limited Mintage

The Perth Mint will release no more than 6,000 of the Australian Map Shaped Coin – Dingo 2016 1oz Silver Coin.

Presentation Packaging and Numbered Certificate

The coin is housed in a classic Perth Mint presentation case and custom-designed shipper. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
