The fourth and final release from the stunning Australian Seasons series depicts the beauty and colour of spring. Taking place from September to November, spring is the unforgettable period in which Australia comes alive – the weather warms, plant life flourishes, and creatures welcome their young into the world.
The Australian Seasons – Spring 2013-dated 1oz coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coin’s reverse depicts two struck White Cockatoos, framed by brightly coloured Banksia and Wax flowers, and an evening sky. The inscription SPRING and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark are also incorporated into the design.
Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.
The coin is housed in a clear, contemporary, square-shaped latex case which displays both sides of the coin. The case is packaged within a beautifully illustrated shipper and comes accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of these Australian Seasons – Spring 2013 1oz Silver Proof Square Coins.
