New Zealand Mint is proud to issue the Birds of Prey 1oz Silver coin series. Each of the coins within the series celebrates the beauty and power of these magnificent creatures.
The Peregrine Falcon, Falco peregrinus, is a large bird of prey renowned for its speed, reaching over 322 km/h (200 mph) during ‘the stoop’, a high speed hunting dive. This makes it the fastest member of the animal kingdom.
REVERSE DESIGN
This coin face depicts a Peregrine Falcon captured in mid-flight with talons outstretched to grasp its prey.
A mountainous, forest clad background is engraved in relief showcasing the kind of environment this Bird of Prey calls home.
OBVERSE DESIGN
This features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.Packaging

The Birds of Prey – Peregrine Falcon 1 oz 999 Fine Silver coin is presented in an elegant, classic wooden coin display case. The inner box sits inside an attractive themed high-gloss outer box. The Certificate of Authenticity is displayed inside the wooden display case.
