In Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a divine mythical creature, a symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune and it is often portrayed chasing a luminous or flaming pearl. The dragons are traditionally shown with their mouths open and their eyes wide, as they endeavour to catch the prized treasure.

The flaming pearl is viewed as a metaphor for wisdom, enlightenment and spiritual essence. From an artistic perspective, dragons are frequently depicted in pursuit of the flaming pearl, which is represented as swirling through mist, smoke and shadows.

This unique 2oz silver coin features the mythical dragon and has been has been individually ‘antiqued’ to give it a unique finish.

99.99% Pure Silver

Each coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver.

Flaming Pearl Design

The reverse of the coin features a dragon chasing a flaming pearl inscribed with the Chinese character for ‘dragon’.

Tuvalu Legal Tender

Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017 year-date and the monetary denomination on its obverse.

Limited Mintage

No more than 1,000 of the Dragon 2017 2oz Silver Antiqued Coin will be released.
