Description
The popular 2013 Australian Koala design is brought to life in high relief using the very best in minting excellence and design.
The Australian Koala 2013-dated 1oz coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coin’s reverse depicts an adult koala sitting on the branch of a eucalyptus tree, surrounded by gum leaves. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the 2013 year-date.
The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.
The coin is housed in a grey display case and illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 9,000 of these Australian Koala 2013 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coins in this packaging from a maximum mintage of 10,000.
