One of Australia’s most loved marsupials, the koala, shines on this spectacular 5oz silver high relief coin.

Each coin is struck from 5oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The reverse of the coin depicts a close-up portrait of a koala with a spray of gum leaves in high relief, bordered by the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the 2014 year-date.

The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Australian Koala 2014 5oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin.

Each coin is housed in a classic display case with a specially designed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
