One of Australia’s most iconic bush creatures, the koala, is brought to life on the Australian Koala 2014 1 Kilo Silver Proof Coin.

Each coin is meticulously struck from 1 kilo of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse depicts a close-up portrait of a koala with a branch of  eucalyptus leaves.  The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA , The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark and the 2014 year-date.

Issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 500 of the Australian Koala 2014 1 Kilo Silver Proof Coin.

The coin is housed in a classic grey display case within a specially designed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
