 Birth of Venus – a painting by Sandro Botticelli, were created in 1486. The work shows the scene of the birth of the Roman goddess of love – Venus. In the right part of the image is Hora – one of the goddesses of the seasons. On the left side are visible as two Zefirów, directing the blows towards the shore shell on which Venus stands. The image carries a lot of symbolic elements alluding to ancient mythology. Currently, the work of “Birth of Venus” is in the collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Obverse: At the top of the coin – the subtle ornaments decorated selective gilding. Below – a stylized fragment of Renaissance attic. On the left side of the coin – the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sign Mint (m / w) and denomination (1 DOLLAR). Along the rim – subtitles: NIUE ISLAND (issuer), Ag 999 (attempt of silver), ELIZABETH II (Elizabeth II) and the year of issue 2014. Reverse: The reverse shows the multi-colored replica of the painting “Birth of Venus”. The right side of the coin – the ornaments characteristic of the art of the Renaissance. On both sides of the picture – subtitles: BIRTH OF VENUS / THE BIRTH OF VENUS (the name of the coin in English and Polish).
