The coin’s reverse features a golden lion cub being nurtured by its mother among grasslands. The inscription LIONESS and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, and the monetary denomination are shown on the coin’s obverse.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 4,500 of these Mother’s Love – Lioness 20141/2oz Silver Proof Coins in this packaging from a maximum mintage of 6,000.
Each coin is housed in a grey display case and box-shipper portraying more stunning imagery, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
