This exciting new series features cute and cuddly cubs from a variety of big cat breeds.

The tiger is a large cat native to parts of Asia, India and Russia. Fully grown tigers can weigh in excess of 136 kilograms and measure more than 3 metres in length. Female tigers give birth about once every two years.

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse features two coloured tiger cubs playing in the grass in front of a ruined fortress. The inscription CUBS and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.

Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination, on its obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The Cubs – Tiger Cubs 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.

The coin is presented in a classic display case within an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
