About the Design:
‘More than meets the eye’
New Zealand Mint is thrilled to launch one of the world’s most successful entertainment franchises, TRANSFORMERS, as a legal tender coin set. The TRANSFORMERS ability to change into vehicles and other forms of technology has captured the imagination of both young and young at heart. This two coin set is based on the classic 1986 theatrical release of the TRANSFORMERS and is presented in TRANSFORMER themed packaging.
Reverse Design:
Each coin dramatically depicts Optimus Prime and Megatron in high quality colour. These are set against an engraved relief background along with the iconic TRANSFORMERS logo.
Obverse Design:
Each coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is issued by New Zealand Mint as legal tender, under the authority of Niue Island.
Packaging:
The coins are presented in a TRANSFORMERS themed display cube embossed with Decepticon and Autobot insignias and featuring a unique spin to lock and unlock action.
