Description
Coin Story
This silver proof coin with a serrated edge is dedicated to our constant companions: Cats and Dogs! The Otocolobus Manul coin is the fourth of the Wild Cat coins to be released as part the ambitious Cats and Dogs series. The Pallas’s cat (Otocolobus manul), is a small wild cat with a broad but fragmented distribution in the grasslands and montane steppes of Central Asia. It is negatively affected by habitat degradation, prey base decline, and hunting, and has therefore been classified as Near Threatened by IUCN since 2002.
Reverse Design
This 1 oz 999 silver coin features a beautiful full colour image of a Otocolobus Manul set against a finely engraved stone background. Each of the coins within the Cats and Dogs series will feature a Swarovski Circonia stone. The Wild Cat Otocolobus Manul coin features a purple coloured stone, delightfully shaped like a small bird.
Obverse Design
The obverse features the emblem of Republic of Fiji and is engraved with the specifications of ‘2 dollars’ and the year ‘2013’.
Packaging
The Wild Cat Otocolobus Manul coin is housed in beautiful presentation case, coloured to harmonise with the purple Swarovski Circonia bird, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
