Description
The reverse features a the image Dominus Flevit, a Catholic Franciscan church situated on the lower western foothills of Mount of Olives, facing the old city of Jerusalem, on the eastern side of Kidron valley. It was constructed between 1953 and 1955 by the Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi. The particular appeal of the coin is its full-color window insert that is a copy of the beautiful stained-glass window of the church adorned with a gold-plated dome on the rock. There are also the following inscriptions: the name of the series and that of the cathedral, the city it is located in and the issuing year. The coin is a true work of art and will become a gem in your collection of modern coins!
