Description

In 2015, we celebrate the eighth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar goat include 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 and 2015. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be elegant, charming, artistic, gifted and calm.

Each coin is meticulously struck from 99.99% pure gold in proof quality.

The reverse of each coin depicts an adult male goat standing on a ridge in a stylised mountain scene. The Chinese character for ‘goat’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Goat’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2015 year-date, and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.

The 2015 gold releases are available as individual 1oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz coins, or in a stunning three-coin set comprising all three issues.

No more than 3,000 individual 1oz coins, 5,000 individual 1/4oz coins and 4,000 individual 1/10oz coins will be issued from their maximum mintages of 6,000, 8,000 and 8,000 respectively. Just 1,500 three-coin sets will be released.

Each coin and three-coin set is housed in an oval-shaped, glossy black and timber-inspired display case and illustrated lunar-themed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
