Description
This magnificent silver coin celebrates the Year of the Horse, the seventh animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
The coin’s reverse depicts two horses standing within a stylised Chinese landscape. The Chinese character for ‘horse’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Horse’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Each coin is struck from 5oz of 99.9% pure silver in superb proof quality by The Perth Mint.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, the coin’s weight and fineness, and the monetary denomination are shown on the coin’s obverse.
No more than 5,000 of these Australian Lunar Series II 2014 Year of the Horse 5oz Silver Proof Coins will be issued by The Perth Mint.
This coin is housed in a grey presentation case within a themed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
